Following the example of Jesus who provided care and healing prayer to all in need, today’s trained lay ministers of care participate in keeping those unable to attend church services spiritually connected with their parish family. In tending to those at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospital, ministers of care share with them the word of God in scripture, pray with them, and offer them companionship, support, hope and love. Occasional phone contacts and greeting cards assure the recipients that they are continually remembered, thought of and prayed for. Special remembrances are offered at holidays and significant life experiences.
Our Mission Statement:
Our mission is to bring St. John the Evangelist to members of our parish family who are not able to come to us. By our words, and with our actions, we offer helping hands and caring hearts.
